PANELS WORTH ANOTHER LOOK

We saw in an earlier post some of the classic covers that are one of the hallmarks of Pre-Code horror comics. In many cases, a lot can be said of the splash pages and panels inside the books themselves.

These are examples from MYSTERIES #s 1-4 (May 1953 - November 1953) by Superior Comics, a Canadian publisher that reprinted American comics as well as some of their own originals and distributed them to the States. The comic was known by the cover title, MYSTERIES WEIRD & STRANGE, but the indicia lists it officially as MYSTERIES. I think you'll agree that at least some of these are as weird and strange as any cover art!
